Sunday Afternoon

After church today we stopped at Home Depot to buy a new power washer, our old one just wasn't doing the job. We moved manure yesterday so Mark really wanted to clean up the skid steer. He was done in about a hour but oh my was he a mess. I posted some pictures of him in the last post. I went into the big barn to check the hay and found that someone had raked the arena nicely, it looks wonderful, we think Steven Marchal did it today while we were in church. I'll have to thank him! While Mark was working on the skid steer, we got Sanna covered by Raven, Jenis checked and teased, Lily grazed, and Ylse's filly played with. She also got a tying lesson as she was not too well behaved with the halter. We picked up all of her feet and rubbed her all over. Valor, Jenis' colt is having a reaction we think to the fly spray. He has lost a lot of his coat on his chest and some on his face. We will stop using the fly spray and see if it improves, if not we will have to figure out what is causing the hair to fall out. It looks like he rubbed himself on something but we don't think it is that because of where it is showing up. I did not put Lily's belly band back on. Lily saw me coming and ran in the shed and hid. That about broke my heart. I am going to give up on the band and just hope the swelling will go down. I let her out in the field to graze now that the hay has been put up. Ciera had a grand time running around. I also let Jenis out after we teased her but she lost her foal, Valor wandered up toward the shed and couldn't find his mom. We reunited the two, put them in with Sanna and moved in a new round bale for them. Diane and I put the new round bale feeders in the sheds and got new bales in them and let the horses in the paddocks but then got the great idea to move them all to Middle Grove as Mike and Diane will be in Alaska for about 2 weeks. Mike just called and he, Diane and Karin are all out riding at Middle Grove. They feel it is good to be back! The horses all look good but Mike is a little worried about Clara, she has dropped some weight and he wants her vet checked to see if she is still pregnant. Dr. Hoerr is gone for a couple of weeks so I will need to schedule that later. When we got back to Bridlewood we took some time to order and eat Chinese for dinner, then back out to the barn to let the mares out and move in a round bale.
