July 1st.
This morning Jenis and Ylse were fed around 6:00am, they are such sweet mares, I'll try to get their paddock cleaned today if I get the house done in time. The weather is perfect, cool with clouds and sunshine. A good day to work outside. Actually I would much rather work outside then in the house but with company coming I can't put it off any longer. By 7:15 I was cleaning Lily's stall when the walkers showed up. This time it was Diane, Rachel, and mom. Ruth and Joan didn't make it, I think Joan worked too hard mowing to get up early and Ruth is getting ready for her company, Ruth's company are also coming in early for the reunion. We are pretty thrilled with how the farm and Lake are looking, everyone is really helping with the mowing, weed whacking and repair. Last night Mike was on the grader and Tim on the skid steer making sure all the driveways were as good as possible.
We still have Larry, Ruth's Arabian over, he is staying until after the reunion with our herd to get to know them better so we don't have fights during the many, many trail rides the horses will be on. Cindy, Ruth's 13.3 hand Welsh Cob x Haflinger pony will also be brought over along with Rachel's 2 horses Sunny and Sandy. Sandy is heavy in foal, due the end of August so we will probably use her for small light kids. At the girls camp, Sunny is always the star, he is the "gorgeous" one. I posted a picture of him taken when he was 2 years old, he is even more "gorgeous" now that he is 5.
Right now I need to get down to work to pay the first of the month bills, it is already July 1st!
